In August 2024, The Infomaniacs release their sixth single ‘The Mistake’. Already a live favourite, the track was recorded at La Chunky Studios in Glasgow and will also feature in the band’s forthcoming album (as yet untitled) which is due to be mixed in August / September and released later in the year. In keeping with the band’s previous single releases there will be a four song EP version (on CD and also available to download from the band’s Bandcamp page) featuring three new songs, ‘There’s No One Above You’, ‘Immune’ and ‘The Older I Get (The Less I Know)’, recorded at Neil Sturgeon’s home studio in the past year or so.

In recent times The Infomaniacs became a five piece with the addition of Michael Gahagan on drums with Marc Tuffley swapping the drumstool for a place out front on electric guitar duties. On ‘The Mistake’ and indeed most of the forthcoming album the twin electric guitar attack from Marc and David Andrews is a striking new feature of the band’s sound, perfectly complementing Neil Menzies’ melodic bass lines and producing a more electric and dynamic sound than the band’s previous long player, the acoustic flavoured ‘Geography & Luck’ album.
